5.02 - Unlike a Virgin - Review
Who's returning? Amanda as the vivacious and ultra-beautiful agent. Justine Chapman as the also beautiful, but not vivacious, pop star who still has a massive crush on Vince.
What happened tonight? Eric found himself a screenplay, which brought out his hunger to begin representing two new writers. They're a little "holier than thou" and a constant reminder of Walsh every time they speak, but they're still a worthy addition to the show.
Where's Walsh? Can't say. I think I may have to relieve myself of thinking we'll ever receive a solid answer on his whereabouts. Oh Walsh, how I miss your crass sense of humor.
Biggest revelation? Ari doesn't like Vince's acting. Now that, my friend, is a big blow. Ari has bled for Vince, only then to let him know that he doesn't like his acting? But as Ari said, the jury is still out on that (I think he's lying, but we shall see...).
How was Amanda? Dirty question, but as a mature and able adult, I shall slip past it. I'll watch Carla Gugino any day of the week. That should sum of up my final opinion on her appearance. Honestly? I hope they keep her around for a little while longer than a three-episode arc.
Did Turtle land him some fine herb? No. It was upsetting, but he did watch some adult-natured television.
Surprise that wasn't really a surprise? Drama and Jacqueline broke up. Serves her right. Sorry, but I don't buy the story about her friend. Yes, I know there's proof, but who said she wasn't out all night partying? I refuse to believe that Drama was wrong!
How about next week? Couldn't of looked better. Vinnie may run into some trouble scheduling an appearance for a birthday bash, and Drama is still sulking over his nasty break-up. Oh, did I also mention that Amanda is a fan of Eric's screenplay?

One thing that annoys me is that they are looking for a sure thing studio movie and there isn't one. Are we supposed to forget that the Joe Roberts character has been wanting to make Matterhorn for sometime. Wouldn't he jump at the chance if Vince wanted to do it? or shouldn't they at least address it?
I'm not sure Joe would offer the film anymore.
Remember, Joe mentioned Colin Farrell (who Ari also mentioned tonight). Joe is looking for a Movie Star. Vince isn't one. And it doesn't help that Medellin was terrible.
What I'm more intrigued about is what happened with "Silo". They obviously didn't shoot it, but both Billy and Vince got advance checks from the studio. Any word on which episode Dana Gordon is coming back? Maybe she'll clear this up
I was reading on the imdb message boards earlier today that we should have an answer about Silo/Walsh when Dana Gordon appears this season.
Also, the house that they are living in, is that Drama's condo or did they buy a house with the advance check from Silo? Also according to imdb, Drama sold his condo and they are living in a house. Any confirmation on this?
As I watched the 2nd episode of Season 5 of Entourage, I had to laugh at how many famous names and faces graced this episode. As Ari, Eric and Vincent discussed the potential new projects for Vincent, the names Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg were thrown at us. Interesting that Tobey and Leo are Kevin Connolly's real life good friends, and that Mark Wahlberg appeared as himself later in the episode. What more, Kevin's other good pal Lukas Haas made an appearance later on, along with Giovanni Ribisi, as aspiring screenwriters. Did I mention this episode was only 27 minutes long?
Later in the episode, Entourage was graced with the presense of a real living legend, Tony Bennett. Along with Justine Chapman (as played by Leighton Meester), he was on board to make a music video. This rang very true, as Mr.Bennett has done duets with many of today's contemporary artists.
In actuality, the entire episode rang true. Each character stayed true to themselves. Eric continues to try to break away and make a name for himself and he did this by going once again outside of the circle. By trying to sell Amanda (as played by Carla Gugino) on representing the new screenwriters he found, he is trying to prove himself as an independent successful member of Hollywood. Ari has gotten even crueler towards E since Medellin tanked, and he feels that he needs to redeem himself. It is truly too bad that he is taking the full wrap, since Vince and Billy Walsh were really to blame for the poor delivery of the script. But, even so, E will continue to beat himself up until he makes it better for his best friend.
Vincent once again is going after things he is being told he cannot have. Although it seems like he is not playing the game, the game is really the same for him. By Ari telling him not to work, he wants to work. By Justine telling him she does not want a relationship, he wants one. Vince's ego can't handle not being Number #1.
Drama takes things over the top again and overreacts when he can't get Jacqueline on the phone. Has he ruined his relationship? Most likely. Will he learn from this and rope his emotions in going forward? HELLO! Do you thing he is called Drama for nothing?
Interestingly, the character that has changed the most is Turtle. Was he still interested in getting lucky? Yes. The difference is that now he is succeeding. There is an air of confidence around him now. He isn't hiding under hats and baggy clothes anymore. Why? I'm sure the answer will be revealed before the end of season 5.
Interesting things we found out tonight. Amanda's last name is Daniels (my maiden name). Jacqueline had a jealous ex-boyfriend (guess she's attracted to the over the top types). Ari doesn't think Vince can act (wow).
Tonight's episode left me wanting more in a way last week's did not. I am left caring about what will happen next. Entourage is really back and I'm on the edge of my seat enjoying the ride!
HBO's Entourage airs Sunday nights at 10pm EST and stars Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Rex Lee.
ps- Is it me or is Shia Labeouf this season's inside joke? How ironic that Adrian Grenier and he should cross paths in the gossip rags in real life this year too!
