Season Premiere Not Holding Up...
Entourage didn't fare so well on Sunday.
Let me explain. It drew a crowd of 1.6 million, which is twenty-seven percent down from last season. America will never learn, will they? This doesn't mean much other than the show has to start moving, fast, to keep the core audience and start proving that it's worth the time to watch.
Next week should draw a better crowd -- it's the return of Justine Chapin, who was a reasonably well liked character, if only for Drama's anecdotes about her virginity.

its probably because the VMAs were on at the same time
exactly..its basically the same demographic with Entourage having a bit more older viewers.
True, but it should have faired much better. At least 2.4.
yeah and that people invite other people over to watch premieres... we had five at our place
Also ture.
Guess we'll have to wait and see for the second episode.
**true
also don't forget it was opening weekend for the NFL, and the Colts-Bears game was on during the Premier, along with the VMA's.
I think the last season had more of a benefit because HBO had more to offer (The Sopranos was just ending). So you probably had more subscriber back then. Plus all the other reasons mentioned above.
I really hate to say this but I think the NFL is really going to affect Entourage’s ratings this season. If you think about it, other than Monday Night football, Sunday Night football is probably the 2nd biggest game to watch. The second half of the game was about to start as soon as Entourage began. I bet money that a lot of people are watching the encore or TIVOing it.
Good point. Luckily for those us who watch both, all the Sunday Night games aren't must see.
Football has a huge thing to do with it......
most young people come home from bars hammered and catch the show later or later in the week. Theres competition. 1.6 million is pretty good.. I wonder how the repeats fared. Probably better than normal.
Just reinforcing the obvious
