6.02 - Amongst Friends - Review
What Happened This Week? The premiere of the Great Gatsby; Eric moved in; Ari discovered a nasty secret about Andrew Klein
The Funniest Line(s): "She loves me. You should have seen her eyes bolt like the tailor who was measuring my inseam."
What Made This Episode? The better question would be: what didn’t make this episode?
Amongst Friends was full of nicely drawn humor, a dazzling premiere and Eric’s feelings for Sloan finally coming to fruition. While that seemed enough for thirty minutes, Ashley Marsh was introduced and Andrew Klein admitted a very nasty secret.
Let’s about The Great Gatsby premiere. How well shot was that? The massive crowd only added to the incredible atmosphere. Very well done and reminiscent of the first season. It just felt fun to watch them walk the carpet, especially when the camera revolved around Vince and truly showed how famous he’s become again.
What else was touched upon? As said above, Eric moved into his new house, furthering the themes of independence. It worked for me.
Favorite Moment? Many to like, but my favorite had to be the premiere… screw it, let’s do moments: Lloyd eating his sandwich and then slowly putting it down after Ari yelled at him was priceless.
Gripes? Ashely Marsh. At the moment, I’m unsure how I feel about the character itself, so it’s labeled under gripes for me.
The bigger reveal tonight was obviously Klein’s affair. I didn’t see it coming, but I’m taking a wait-and-see approach.
Honorable Mention: Jami Gertz as Marlo Klein. Definitely hope to see more.
Overall Opinion? Great follow-up to the premiere.
Next Week: Eric struggles with a bad review; The boys head to the track.
